<strong>Schilderijen met een verhaal</strong>
Marianne van Gaale is jarenlang werkzaam geweest als modeontwerpster in
de confectie industrie en als illustratrice en styliste voor reclamebureaus.
In 2001 besloot zij haar creativiteit ook te gebruiken om te gaan schilderen.
Speciale schildertechnieken
Eerst abstract op grote doeken met acryl en later na een drie jarige opleiding bij
Kunstacademie Te Wildt leerde zij alle technieken van het fijnschilderen op paneel
met olieverf. Vooral dieren, portretten en stillevens.
Daarna volgde zij lessen bij Javelin Schram in Zeist en schildert nu op grote linnen
doeken portretten in een realistische stijl, met een traditionele techniek, laag over
laag, glacerend met transparante olieverf.
Een techniek die veel tijd vergt, maar een maximale diepte aan het schilderij geeft.
Dit is vooral goed te zien bij de serie portretten van WERELDVROUWEN.
Inspiratie
Zij vindt het boeiend daarin het karakter van de kleurrijke mensen, die zij tijdens
haar reizen ontmoet, vast te leggen. Het mode aspect is duidelijk te zien in de
glamour serie, vintage zwart /wit portretten met kleurige juwelen.
Marianne van Gaale was for many years active as a fashion designer in the clothing industry, illustrator and stylist at an advertising agency. In 2001 she decided to use her creativity for painting as well.
Special painting techniques
Starting abstract on canvas with acrylic paint. A three year course in the Art Academy Te Wildt, she studies all the techniques of fine art painting with oil paint. Especially animals, portraits and still life. After that she took painting lessons in the Javelin Schram Art School. Nowadays she is painting on large canvas, portraits in realistic style and traditional techniques. Layer by layer, glacing with transparant oil paint. This technique requires a lot of time, but with maximum of depth as a result. Clearly visible in the series portraits of portraits of WORLD WOMEN.
Inspiration
She thinks it is fascinating to capture the caracters of the colorfull people, she meets during her travels. The fashion aspect is clear in the glamour serie, vintage black/white portraits with colorfull special juwelry.
